Hi there, I’m Megan! As a lifelong romantic, I crave books that centre on connection and compassion. I love falling head over heels for and into a story while simultaneously gaining a different perspective. My interests lie primarily in commercial and upmarket fiction, especially within the romance, fantasy, and book-club genres. I am also drawn to works that straddle or blend categories, such as romantasy and dystomance. Heartfelt narratives, imagined or lived, that explore contemporary issues with nuance, be it racial justice, gender dynamics, reproductive rights, and beyond, are of particular interest to me as well. Ultimately, intimate storytelling, sharp wit, and immersive worldbuilding are the ways to my heart; if a story can make me swoon, yearn, sigh, laugh, or cry (even better if it can do all), you have my attention.
What I’m Looking for:
- Romance, romance, and more romance.
- Own voices romance of all kinds (sapphic/queer, cultural, seasonal, sports, etc.), from frothy to tense, tender to steamy
- AAPI stories that span the gamut of emotional experiences
- Cross-genre romantic fiction (romantasy, dystomance, romantic suspense, mystery-romance)
- Low/cozy fantasy and accessible magical realism, particularly if it incorporates well-integrated supernatural, paranormal or time-play elements
- CanCon (Canadian-authored or Canadian-set commercial novels)
Fun facts about me:
- I became obsessed with Nora Roberts, Julia Quinn, Stephanie Laurens, and Johanna Lindsey at the ripe old age of 10
- I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since debut, and you best believe I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version)
- I cope with stress and anxiety by baking in the dead of night much to my roommate’s annoyance (I like to think I’m adding a pleasant olfactory element to her dreams) and to my colleagues’ delight (they reap the benefits of my shenanigans)
