The Agent:
- I am a Literary Associate with Olswanger Literary.
- I started building my list in 2025.
- I am gay and Latino/Hispanic.
- Hablo español e inglés (yes, I speak Spanish with my Spanish-speaking clients).
- I am a native to Puerto Rico (de la cabeza a los pies).
Writers:
- I am looking for adult fiction and nonfiction written by diverse voices, including LGBT+, Latino/Hispanic, Asian, African, or diaspora writers. Allies are welcome. For fiction, I only consider writers who work in more than one genre. If you write in a single genre, I am not the right agent for you. Additionally, I would love to work with writers who can create stories from varied concepts and bring something fresh.
Genre Focus:
- I am looking for manuscripts in fiction that are set in between literary fiction and genre fiction. They must have artistic prose and commercial plot. The narratives must teach something, explore themes, have some philosophical or psychological depth, and intersect with history or culture.
- I am only interested in magical realism, mystery, romance, historical fiction, fantasy, or science fiction. If you can blend two or three, that would be better. I am not interested in space opera, straight horror, or political or procedural mystery/thrillers. But, if you use light horror and thriller as an element of the genres I am looking for then, yes (I prefer mystery/thrillers when they are LGBT+).
- For nonfiction, I welcome works on history, pop culture, lifestyle, well-being, and spirituality/esoterica. If it is focused on Asia or Latin America, even better.
Editing Style:
As an agent I only do content editing. I will not do proofreading or copy editing. As an agent, I am expecting you, the writer, to be capable of them. It is important to remember that writing is rewriting. If you dislike doing revisions, avoid collaboration, or disregard feedback when your ego feels hurt, do not submit to me. If you struggle to understand that this industry moves slowly, or if you easily feel overstressed, I am not the right fit.
