Bio
Hi there! I’m currently an assistant editor at Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, acquiring titles for multiple imprints. I edit an eclectic list of fiction across all age categories alongside Jennifer Besser and Bess Braswell by authors including Leigh Bardugo, Adalyn Grace, Aaron Blabey, Sangu Mandanna, Eoin Colfer, Abraham Matias, Delilah S. Dawson, and Mariko Turk. I grew up in California, graduated from Tufts University, and currently haunt the Amtrak between Boston and New York City. I am a hot yoga fanatic, voracious knitter, amateur birder, and proud AMC A-Lister.
Wishlist
I acquire hooky, high concept fiction across all children’s age levels. I like my picture books to be gentle and sentimental OR energetic and loud, with clever, kinetic, subtextual art that would thrive in an indie bookstore. In middle grade, I’m looking for mischievous romps, precocious rule-breakers, and absurd humor. In YA, I want to be sucked in by an authentic voice, in both narration and dialogue, and a detailed atmosphere—with bonus points for a swoony first-love that does the impossible (makes you miss high school). I will also consider the occasional adult submission, mainly commercial and crossover romance/romantasy.
Across all genres and ages, I prioritize punchy writing, big feelings, and immersive settings (time and place, please!) and I’m especially excited by anything weird, subversive, surreal, and bizarre—and anything truly laugh-out-loud funny. Give me a fourth wall break, an unexpected POV, or a restrictive time frame—a structural choice that’s surprising and delightful—paired with stylized writing with a robust sense of self. My sense of humor is dark, dry, and somewhat evil, but a well-placed “your mom” joke will always make me laugh. The hopeless romantic in me loves a love story, especially if it’s unexpected, messy, and irresistible. I’m always looking for magical realism, tingly romance, campy horror, clever wordplay, irreverent twists, genre benders, sharp social commentary, and underrepresented voices from diverse backgrounds.
