Currently looking for:

• Dystopian Romance in the vein of Daggermouth by H.M. Wolfe and To Cage a Wild Bird by Brooke Fast.

• College dark romance in the vein of the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent.

• Highly emotionally damagingromance novels in the vein of the Boys of Tommen series by Chloe Walsh and Close to You by Nissa Renzo.

• Genre blending novels like mafia sports romance, fantasy thrillers, dark academia sports romance, fantasy sports romance, cozy fantasy mysteries, etc.

• Stories about late bloomers, especially in their mid to late twenties. Hopeless romantics struggling to find love, not having everything figured out, struggling to find their first job, etc.

General Overview:

• FANTASY / ROMANTASY: Books that make me feel like I’m actually being transported to another world, either by intricate worldbuilding or a whimsical vibe. I like grounded, begginer level fantasy, romance as a main or sub-plot.

• ROMANCE: A love that makes me swoon, makes me giggle and kick my feet. I want to believe that the characters are in love and root for them. Layered characters that feel real.

• DARK ROMANCE: Not too dark. I still want a beautiful, wholesome romance. I mostly like when the situation/context is dark (like mafia), but the romance itself is not dark and it makes me giggle and kick my feet. Ex: Mindf*ck series by S.T. Abby. Brutal Birthright series by Sophie Lark. Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver.

• MYSTERY: I specifically like the fun murder mystery kind. I’m a scaredy cat so I like keeping it light. I want mysteries that entertain me, not ones that give me nightmares or make me paranoid. Ex: The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

• SCI-FI: I like it when it blends with other genres like fantasy or dystopian. I like urban scenes or superheroes. (Ex: Renegades by Marissa Meyer).. I will be very picky.

• DARK ACADEMIA / GOTHIC / HORROMANCE: There needs to be a romance element. Eerie and spooky but not fightening. Ex: Rachel Gillig and Keri Lake.

• UPMARKET / BOOK CLUB: I like character studies where we learn about a fictional person and they end up feeling so real it’s almost unbelievable they don’t exist (ex: Taylor Jenkins Reid). Or stories with multiple POVs and storylines that meet in the middle and are impossible to put down (ex: Elin Hilderbrand).

• Open to all levels of spice.

• Open to YA, New Adult and Adult for: Romantasy, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Dark Academia, Mystery, Gothic.

• Open just for Adult and New Adult: Romance (Contemporary, Rom-Com, Dark Romance) and Upmarket Fiction.

Specific things I like to see:

• Found families where I love and want to protect every single one of the characters.

• FMCs out of the “strong warrior” stereotype. Ex: Elain Archeron (ACOTAR), Kiva Meridan (The Prison Healer).

• Latinx characters that are not stereotypical.

• Romances with a magical realism twist.

• YEARNING!!!!!! I want Heated Rivalry and Anthony Bridgerton level of yearning.

• ADHD rep (female especially).

• Not-overdone Sports Romance. Give me tennis, soccer, basketball, swimming, anything outside of football and hockey (though I love those too). Extra points if it’s Formula 1.

• Romances with a good situational hook/plot. Ex: How to lose a guy in 10 days ; Set it up ; My best friend’s girl.

• Interconnected Standalone/Duologies series. I love a good interconnected series where there are different couples and each one gets a book/duology. Most contemporaries follow this already but I also like fantasies with this format.

• Unique magic systems.

• College/School/Academia setting.

• Comedic-relief side characters. There’s always that funny side character that ends up stealing your heart and I’m gonna eat it up every single time. Extra points if they’re a little flirty. Ex: Ridoc Gamlyn (Fourth Wing), Carrion Swift (Quicksilver), Dean Di Laurentis (Off-Campus), Gerard “Gibsie” Gibson (Boys of Tommen).

• Characters that have a modicum emotional intelligence and emotional effectiveness despite their issues/trauma. (If your character resembles Conrad Fisher (TSITP) in any way, shape, or form, KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME).
