Evan Yeong (he/him) was taught to read by his mother at age four; little did he know that a steady diet of comic books would one day lead him to the world of publishing. A long-time lover of genre fiction, he began devouring fantasy and science fiction as soon as he was able before branching out into more literary fare. He’s proud to have worked with such authors as Justinian Huang (The Emperor and the Endless Palace, Lucky Seed) and Bianca Marais (A Most Puzzling Murder) whose work defies easy categorization. Evan is on the lookout for upmarket, speculative, and genre-bending fiction, especially from authors that reflect the racial, sexual, and gender diversity he sees every time he bikes around the city of Toronto.
Fun facts about me:
- While born in Toronto, I spent much of my childhood and youth in the Philippines and Thailand, respectively.
- My mother is Filipina and being much closer to her side of the family, I’m always on the lookout for stories about that particular culture and experience.
- I’ve been playing Overwatch since launch, a game I was drawn to for it’s diverse larger-than-life characters and optimistic vision for the future. Please don’t ask what my rank is.
