Jennifer WillsThe Seymour Agency |

My Manuscript Wish ListI have eight years’ experience in some of the publishing industry’s leading literary agencies. I’ve worked with publishers around the world in Trident Media Group’s huge foreign rights department, and with domestic publishers at Writers House (where, incidentally, I began my career as an intern).
I’ve been building my list at the Seymour Agency since April 2016. I’m a relentless champion for my clients’ work.
I’m looking for:
MG: I love fun, smart, adventurous, larger-than-life protagonists. Voice is key! I’m open to all genres here, with a special fondness for anything with magic, adventure, and mystery. YA: I’m equally drawn to dark, edgy, psychological thrillers and light, fun romances. I love heroines who are smart and strong and just as likely to do the rescuing as the heroes! I’m particularly on the hunt for stories that are more about friendship than romance – what happens when your BFF isn’t your BF anymore? *Grabby hands* for immersive sci-fi/fantasy worlds, whether they’re out of this world or familiar, maybe even right next door or hiding in the wardrobe, as long as they’re as fun to explore as the story itself. I am such a Stephen King fan it’s almost embarrassing, so if you can comp your books to one of his, especially the Dark Tower series, send it my way! Adult: In women’s fiction, I’m looking for relatable protagonists who handle life’s problems with grace and a sense of humor. I love gritty, dark twisty thrillers, and mysteries (and cozies) that are unsolvable until the very end. If you can stump me, I’m practically yours. (But good luck – I’m a pretty good armchair detective…) I award bonus points for morally gray characters. In all genres, I welcome diverse writers from all walks of life!
