I enjoy any high fantasies with complex worldbuilding and magic systems. I’d also love to see more cozy, strange horror—like if TJ Klune went dark and rogue. Horror sprinkled with dark and/or campy humor (Grady Hendrix adjacent) is always a treat.

While I’m moving away from the saturated fantasy tropes—princess with unknown abilities, sexy fae with sensual wings, dominant vampires, etc.— I welcome any mythical creatures who go against the norm. Like a vampire who runs a bakery. Everyday fantastical characters doing abnormal things. Any historical fantasies are greatly welcomed, especially with court politics where everyone is both a hero and villain in their own ways.

Consider this a blaring announcement that I want more genre mashups! Think mysteries with a dash of fantasy, such as The Thursday Murder Club with a bit of whimsy, or wacky romance pairings, such as slasher romcoms or horror romcoms.

As always, I’m looking for marginalized and underrepresented voices in my inbox across any genre fiction.
