Sabrina Pyun

I am interested in character-driven literary and upmarket fiction, particularly with magical realism, sci-fi, folk tale, or generally speculative elements. I’m looking for stories where the strange element is not the point, but illuminates something meaningful about the character’s understanding of themselves, others, or humanity overall.

In both fiction and memoir, I’m looking for stories informed by cultural background as opposed to primarily about that background. I’d love to see stories that go beyond the immigrant experience and that showcase the variety of paths underrepresented groups take in life.

I am also interested in literary cookbooks and big-idea nonfiction with roots in psychology.

I am not looking for commercial fiction, fiction where characters are primarily school-age, prescriptive nonfiction, or books on politics.
