Submission Wishlist
Fiction: I am looking to represent authors who show a serious dedication to the craft. To be more specific, I want to work with people who have studied writing at a college or university, entered writing contests, attended writing workshops, or have been published in literary journals, news outlets or magazines. People who have laid it all on the line to risk more comfortable ways of earning money, instead opting to *gulp* write novels. I want to work with those types because they think storytelling is what they were put on this earth to do. Those are the type of writers whose careers I can help grow into something special, something that will make the rewards far greater than the risks.
– Thrillers/Suspense in any form, whether they’re commercial, psychological, dark, humorous, and especially those that have a healthy literary injection. Strong sense of place is a major plus.
– Literary stories with a plot. If you describe your work as “existential,” I am probably not the right agent for you.
– Domestic Fiction (or, what I like to call Suburban Dysfunction) in any form. Whether it’s suspenseful like Little Fires Everywhere or darkly comedic like The Stepford Wives or even with dose of horror and the supernatural like Rosemary’s Baby, I want to read it.
Nonfiction: I am interested in representing writers in the nonfiction space with a focus on narrative nonfiction, true crime, health and wellness, and long form investigative journalism.
Fun facts about me:
Thinking of real fun facts is hard, but I’ll try my best! I have a dog that looks just like Scooby Doo (his name is Jeremy). I have had a lot of jobs, including: busboy, reporter, assistant director, copywriter, and disaster relief specialist. Literary agent is where I am happiest, though. Your stories sustain me!
