Middle-Grade: daring format, interactive, or illustrated
I’d love to see more daringly formatted books for middle-grade readers:Â lower MG, regular MG, upper MG — I’m looking for all of it!, along with interestingly formatted MG book, more illustrated stories in this age band, and more interactive work (this includes LitRPG, Choose-Your-Own-Adventure, stories that include Search & Find or “solve this” elements, alternate formats, combined formats, fun and/or goofy illustrations, and more!)
I tend to be drawn to humor and simple cleverness in these areas and am looking for projects that are interesting in design, nature, or premise but not so complex a reluctant reader would be afraid to pick them up.
Comps this could include but aren’t limited to:
DIARY OF A WIMPY KID
DORK DIARIES
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
TAPPER TWINS
WHERE’S WALDO
TIMMY FAILURE
