My Manuscript Wish List®
Alexander Rigby is a New York Times bestselling editor with over a decade of experience in the book publishing industry. He is an acquiring Executive Editor at DK.
Please note, I am an editor, NOT a literary agent. If you are trying to find a literary agent, please do not email me. I am open to receiving unagented submissions, but you need to have a significant platform of some kind (notable writing credits, specialized degrees, large social media following, etc.), a complete manuscript, and a professional nonfiction book proposal ready to go. If you submit your work to me unagented and I express interest, please do not then try to get a literary agent, as it complicates the process.
I am seeking more narrative nonfiction, especially in the areas of self-help, memoir, essays, nature, travel, pop culture, history, and humor.
In the visual, four-color area, I am open to receiving more projects in the food/cookbook space, art/illustrated books, photography books, and any other visual book project that you think could be a good fit for me based on my interests and other books I have previously worked on.
I would love to publish more works by diverse authors, especially members of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
Please check out my portfolio of my published/announced titles by following the link to my website, where a list of all my DK books and previous titles from other publishers can be found.
I am no longer seeking any fiction projects at this time, so please do not query me with fiction manuscripts, as I will be unable to review them or respond.
Submissions should be emailed to alex.rigby@dk.com
