Hello! I am an Acquiring Editor with a focus on children’s picture books, board books, nonfiction, middle grade, and activity books. I’m currently on leave but please do check back.

It’s been my privilege to edit picture books, middle grade, poetry, and young adult books by many beloved, best-selling authors and illustrators for over a decade as an editor at Candlewick Press, Page Street Kids, Starry Forest Books, and more.

I hold an MA in Children’s Literature and an MS in Library & Information Science. Before working in publishing I spent a decade working in public libraries and I’m a second-generation librarian (a fact my father says I’m legally obligated to mention).

What I’m personally looking for:

• Mischief
• A sense of humor (tending towards subtle, wry, dark, or clever)
• Folk and fairy tales, legends, tales, and old songs: both retellings and new (or new-to-me!)
• Diverse voices, particularly differently-abled / disability
• Rebellion
• Well-placed whimsy, delicate detail, and intricate worlds
• Enchanting words and stories
• Stories about homes and houses
• Texts tumbling with nature, and forests, brimming with gardens and flowers
• Narrative non-fiction and historical fiction picture books, particularly of strong women
• Scotland, Ireland, and the UK
• Poetry and poetic voice
