I’m the senior editor at Turner Publishing Company, and I’m a sucker for morally gray main characters.
We publish a balance of fiction and nonfiction across all genres, so it’s easier to create a blanket statement of what we’re NOT looking for: picture books, juvenile fiction and nonfiction, middle grade fiction and nonfiction, fiction anthologies, memoirs, novellas, and short story collections.
My super niche wishlist:
Fiction
- Something we can comp to Downton Abbey
- Something with big Legally Blonde energy
- Something we can comp to Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Sci-fi, but more Jurassic Park rather than The Andromeda Strain
- Omegaverse in the vein of Lana Ferguson
Nonfiction
- NF about women’s health written by a woman
- NF about rehabbing stray dogs

Things that will most likely be a no for me:
- Graphic on-page SA (especially if it doesn’t further the plot in any way)
- War stories in the trenches (I respect it, but it’s just not my cup of tea)
- Gory animal death (People dying in a bloodbath? Whatever. Just don’t hurt the puppy.)
Fun facts about me:
I have a rescue pup named Sirius (as in Black). When I’m not editing or writing or reading, I’m probably watching Star Wars while taking on another insane project (much to my husband’s dismay).

Turner Publishing is currently accepting submissions of fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. Submissions can be made by agents or authors directly. Due to the volume of submissions received, we are unable to respond to every submission.
