A forever English major, I love books that are critical, naturally analytical, and engaging.  I’m seeking novels that keep me on my toes and have a sweeping plot paired with sharp writing. SUCH A FUN AGE by Kiley Reid, SEVERANCE by Ling Ma, I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU by Rebecca Makkai, or anything in the vein of Celeste Ng and Emma Cline are some examples of books that I couldn’t put down, but also couldn’t stop thinking about after. I’m a sucker for books about young people discovering and understanding their place in the world — if your comp is Sally Rooney or Lily King, please send it my way!

I’m always looking for the perfect campus novel like THE IDIOT by Elif Batuman or THE SECRET HISTORY by Donna Tartt. I particularly love world-building and anything that takes place in a distinct setting that works in tandem with the plot and am partial to stories set in underrepresented geographical locations, like DEMON COPPERHEAD by Barbara Kingsolver or THE ROUND HOUSE by Louise Erdrich. I’m also interested in quiet, yet sweeping suspense novels, such as THE GOD OF THE WOODS by Liz Moore, and have a soft spot for mysteries such as DIAL A FOR AUNTIES by Jesse Q Sutanto, and soul-searching romance books in the style of Emily Henry. Even better if it’s a mystery/rom-com hybrid!

When my nose isn’t in a book, I’m typically exploring and cooking new recipes, knitting a new sweater, swimming, and attempting to get better at tennis!
