A forever English major, I love books that are critical, naturally analytical, and engaging. I’m looking for novels that keep me on my toes and have a sweeping plot paired with sharp writing. SUCH A FUN AGE by Kiley Reid, I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU by Rebecca Makkai, or THE GUEST by Emma Cline are some examples of books that I couldn’t put down, but also couldn’t stop thinking about after. I’ve always adored books about women navigating and discovering their place in the world, and all the messiness that comes with it — if your comp is Sally Rooney, Lily King, or Dolly Alderton, please send it my way! I’m also interested in family stories like PACHINKO by Min Jin Lee or THE DUTCH HOUSE by Ann Patchett, and unique historical novels with diverse perspectives like THE SAFEKEEP by Yael van der Wouden and THE STORM WE MADE by Vanessa Chan. I love being transported to a setting that teaches me something new, and unique historical novels with a twist
I’m also looking for smart and twisty mystery and suspense books that tackle complex issues and feature compelling protagonists, such as THE GOD OF THE WOODS by Liz Moore; NORTHERN SPY by Flynn Berry; and BRIGHT YOUNG WOMEN by Jessica Knoll, and enjoy slow-burn, sprawling mysteries like THE HUNTER by Tana French. I’ve secretly always liked books about spies, and would love to see an adult version of THE GALLAGHER GIRLS series by Ally Carter, or something in the vein of the SLOW HORSES series by Mick Herron.
Fun facts about me:
When my nose isn’t in a book, I’m typically cooking new recipes, knitting a sweater, and attempting to get better at tennis!
