My Manuscript Wish List®
I’m looking for literary fiction and smart book club fiction, including adult-centered coming-of age stories, family/intergenerational stories, magical realism and mythology, stories centered around female characters, diverse stories from various cultural/ racial/ geographical perspectives, dystopian or apocalyptic stories, particularly involving climate change, and voice-driven writing.
I like books that deal with culturally relevant topics, books that have a sense of humor, and books that deal with difficult subjects like loss but remain optimistic/uplifting. I love books about young women finding themselves, whether through their career, their friendships, or any other facets of their lives. I care most about voice and observant, thoughtful writing; if you know how to tell a story well, chances are what it’s about won’t really matter.
I’m also interested in young adult fiction, from clever, emotional contemporary fiction similar to books by Angie Thomas, Jason Reynolds, or Rainbow Rowell, to fantasy stories similar to books by Cinda Williams Chima or Leigh Bardugo.
I have a BA in English from Kenyon College, where I interned for the Kenyon Review, sparking my interest in publishing. I’ve interned at Flatiron Books, Pippin Properties, and Writers House, and I’ve been working at Georges Borchardt since 2018. I recently started taking on authors, and I’m excited and eager to build my list.
I’m not looking for commercial fiction, nonfiction, middle grade, or children’s books.
