Edie Astley joined the Simon & Schuster flagship imprint in 2026 after working at Harper. Her books have been Sunday Times bestsellers, celebrity book club picks, Indie Next selections, and adapted for the screen. Writers she has worked with include Lucy Rose, Tennessee Hill, Anna Hope, Emma van Straaten, Louise Nealon, and Heather O’Neill.
Edie is drawn to upmarket and literary fiction with a compelling premise, strong voice, and an electric plot. She particularly enjoys stylish, funny, big-hearted novels about the complexities of life and relationships, epic love stories with a bite, and thoughtfully high-concept novels that borrow speculative, fairytale, mythic, or magical elements but are grounded in reality. Edie doesn’t shy away from dark, weird, and subversive stories that reveal or explore uncomfortable truths about our culture and she enjoys smart suspense/thrillers with a literary bent that feel fresh or are told from a new angle.
