Hannah Phillips

Editor at St. Martin’s Press. I’m happy to be able to acquire any book I’d love to read in my spare time, so my list resembles my eclectic shelves at home: voice-driven narrative nonfiction and memoir, journalism, overlooked history, pop science, social and criminal justice, and cultural criticism.

I’m always on the lookout for issues- and idea-driven nonfiction that sharpens conversations and contributes to our understanding of society. I love anything for women and by women, a book that corrects misunderstood history, and sweeping accounts that expose a subculture, religion, or an industry we rarely hear about. And I’m a sucker for anything set in my homeland of the deep south.
