What I’m looking for in narrative non-fiction, primarily history and biography.

What I’m looking for in fiction: Crime, suspense, thrillers.

What to query me for: anything you write other than screenplays and poetry. I’d rather you queried me for something I might love than miss the chance because you thought the category wasn’t right. I’m stronger in some categories than others, but I’ll look at pretty much everything.

Submission Guidelines

I prefer email queries.
Send a query letter that includes the first 3-5 pages of book.

The pages should be in the body of the email, NOT as an attachment.
The subject line should read: Query for (insert title of your project)

If you are querying about a non-fiction project, send a query telling me about the project, your credentials, and the market niche the project serves.  If you have an overview or introduction, include that in the body of the email like you would sample pages from a novel.

Memoir, although non-fiction, is acquired and sold like a novel so use the guidelines for a novel.
You don’t need to write a proposal for a memoir.
