My Manuscript Wish List®
Being a long-term fan of the genre, I’m looking for full-length, adult, science fiction, epic fantasy, magical realism, horror and mythical retellings. I also love historical novels, fairytale retellings and anything contemporary with a speculative edge to it. Particularly enthusiastic about own voices stories.
Not actively seeking YA at this time.
Science fiction: I really want character-driven SF. Tech is great – and big SF battles are fun, but I really want to fall for those characters. New worlds, new voices, new adventures.
Not a big fan of military SF or cyberpunk…sorry!
Fantasy: I adore great world building fantasy – especially with strong female leads and new and original voices with diverse characters and different settings. Anything that’s trope twisting and genre defying is perfect for me. John Gwynne’s The Shadow of the Gods and Tasha Suri’s The Jasmine Throne is exactly my sort of pleasure reading. Or some cozy fantasy in the vein of T J Klune’s The House in the Cerulean Sea or Heather Fawcett’s Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries.
Not a fan of steampunk, or urban fantasy.
Horror: Gothic historical, dark and haunted houses, angry ghosts, and twisty, turny stories with an ambiguous speculative edge are what I’m looking for. If they’re based around stories from a non-western background – even better. Loved Zen Cho’s Black Water sister, and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
Not interested in slasher fiction horror or gratuitous violence.
Historical: Love mythological retellings. Actively looking for books that move away from the Greek/Roman myths. Mythological retellings of non-western stories would be great. Or a fairytale retelling – After the Forest by Kell Woods, For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten are books that I adore in this area.

I’d like the first three chapters, a synopsis, biography and covering letter.
