Kelsey Day (they/them) is an associate literary agent at Aragi Inc. Assisting Nicole Aragi, they cut their teeth working with bestselling phenomena such as Colson Whitehead, Tommy Orange, and Ocean Vuong. They are selectively building their own list, and seeking authors with sharp voices in the upmarket and literary fiction space, as well as non-fiction books from authors with strong platforms.
They are especially interested in:
- Smart, fast-paced literary and upmarket fiction
- Creators from BIPOC, queer, disabled, and rural communities
- Accessible leftist fiction and non-fiction
- Illustrated projects from authors with a strong platform
They are not interested in:
- Stories about cops / murder mysteries / procedural dramas
- Sweeping fantasy or sci-fi (though a light speculative element is welcome)
- Short story collections or poetry books (they do love these genres but need to build out other parts of their list)
- Non-fiction books about Christianity
