Maggie Cooper

I’ve been an agent with Aevitas Creative Management since 2018, representing adult fiction and nonfiction that makes our world weirder, kinder, more joyful, or all three. Based in Boston, I hold a degree in English from Yale University, attended the Clarion Writers Workshop, and earned an MFA in fiction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I served as an editor for The Greensboro Review.

I am seeking beautifully told queer stories; genre-bending literary fiction; smart, feminist vacation reads; and quirky romance and crossover fantasy. My other passions include illustrated memoir and nonfiction; narrative nonfiction books about food, language, culture, and queerness; and well earned happy endings—particularly for characters underrepresented in mainstream publishing.

With very few exceptions, I don’t represent YA or children’s books, and I rarely read or work on thrillers; true crime; or memoirs without a researched, reported, or critical element.
