I’m most passionate about middle-grade and YA fiction, though I also acquire graphic novels, nonfiction,and picture books.
My taste is primarily voice driven. I look for vivid and unforgettable characters with voices that stick with the reader. I love mysteries, unusual settings, ensemble casts, and beautiful writing. Bonus points for kids who are socially on the outskirts. Please send me your weirdo stories! I’m not a good fit for overly sweet books, didactic stories, heavy romance, science fiction, or high fantasy. I do acquire novels in verse, but I am particularly picky about this category.
Currently looking for funny middle grade, heartfelt coming of age stories, and YA with larger than life, one-of-a-kind main characters. Across all genres, I am desperate to see more work from marginalized creators. I am also working on a collection of nonfiction books about climate change solutions.
