I am only accepting agented submissions at this time.

I’m looking for compelling and commercial narrative nonfiction across a variety of genres, particularly history.

History:

I’m searching for gripping stories with a great hook—something that catches my eye immediately and forces me to read on. Even more than that, I’m looking for history with clear relevance to the modern day. Give me a combination of those two aspects, and I’ll be delighted!

To get more specific, I’m especially interested in history from a new angle; unexplored history; art history; and the history of marginalized voices (women’s history, LGBTQIA+ history, history outside of the US, mental health–related, etc.). Please do still note the above criteria here.

Everything else:

I’m also looking for narrative nonfiction within travel/nature (adventure stories, stories about animals, wildlife, the environment); true crime (specifically true crime with empathy for the victims and something for the reader to learn); and accessible science narratives (medicine, biology, astronomy, paleontology—everything works here! So long as it’s fully readable by someone not in the field). And of course, if you have a proposal that doesn’t quite fit these descriptions but you still feel would be perfect, please do send it my way!

*Please note that I am open to memoir/autobiography only in relation to the subjects I specified above.

*Please do not send children’s/YA, fiction, poetry, prescriptive, or illustrated/gift/coffee table books.
