I’m looking for chapter book series and middle grade fiction that make me laugh out loud.

I look most closely for a strong hook and a clear voice. I love characters who are strong and smart but don’t always make the best choices. Messy is fun! I love books that are centered around friendship and family dynamics, and want to see more multigenerational families living under one roof. I also love mixed-media formatting and non-linear storylines. I’m actively seeking diverse characters, authors, and stories, and am particularly desperate for more fat characters who love (or are learning to love) their bodies.

I grew up on cartoons with quirky casts of characters, like Recess and Hey Arnold!, and would love to see more projects reminiscent of these. I’m not the best fit for high fantasy or sci-fi, but I love fairy tales with fresh takes and stories that are grounded in reality with just a touch of magic. Please do not send me horror, as I have the fear tolerance of a new-born puppy. Instead, send me your books about friendship break-ups, a big move, and all of the twin stories!
