My name is Tina P. Schwartz, and I started The Purcell Agency in 2012 to help writers get their manuscripts published. I wanted as many people as I could help be seen and heard. A majority of my signed authors started out as debut authors, and now some have several titles to their credit. I am an author myself, so I know the trials and tribulations of being in the querying trenches. I think that helps me navigate the editing process and submission process with clear goals for the authors I represent.
Fun facts about me:
My first published book as an author was MOTOCROSS FREESTYLE, a nonfiction book for kids, because I let my 4 year old get a motorcycle and start racing. (What was I thinking?!)

I’d like the next…
New Adult voice. I love that time in a person’s life — the early 20-somethings trying to make their mark in the world.
My favorites include…
I love books by Carly Fortune, Jennifer Weiner, Barbara O’Connor, Barbara O’Neal, Carolyn Mackler, S.E. Hinton, , David Levithan, Matt Eichledinger, Jack Gantos… (notice a mix of Middle Grade and Women’s fiction authors!); TV — I love Ted Lasso and Shrinking. I think head writer Brett Goldstein is genius!! (Saw him do stand-up comedy in Chicago. Brilliant!); Movies — I’m a sucker for anything Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, or 80’s teens that John Hughes created.
